Please be advised of the following bus cancellation and delay on Friday, December 3 due to driver shortage.
- KN38 will be cancelled.
- KN29 will be running approximately 30 minutes late in the PM only (AM will be running on time).
Thank you for your continued patience as we work to address the ongoing bus driver shortage affecting bus routes throughout Northwestern Ontario. The Consortium considers all possible options to avoid cancelling buses. When it can be done safely, this includes doubling routes and altering schedules to provide route coverage. We appreciate the understanding shown by families when these cancellations and delays occur. School bus cancellations are always a last resort as we understand the impact that they have on families.
The Consortium and bus operators have been actively recruiting and training new drivers since the beginning of the school year. Many new drivers have joined our team of dedicated individuals who ensure that students get to school safely, on time, and ready to learn. Regular and part-time drivers are still needed in Kenora, Sioux Narrows, Sioux Lookout, Red Lake, Ear Falls, and Dryden. Bus operators offer paid training and licensing, competitive wages, and signing bonuses.
