The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) announced that they will be on strike, starting on Monday, November 21, unless a resolution is reached with the Government of Ontario. School boards are impacted by CUPE job action differently depending on if they have CUPE staff at their Boards and which employee groups they represent.
Keewatin-Patricia District School Board (KPDSB) and Northwest Catholic District School Board (TNCDSB) schools will be closed to students, effective Monday if a resolution is not reached before that time.
Kenora Catholic District School Board (KCDSB) and Conseil scolaire de district catholique des Aurores boréales (CDSCAB) schools will remain open to students on Monday, and buses will run as usual for these students.
Please refer to your school board’s website and communication for further information about school closures, virtual/remote learning, and support available to students and families.
